980 children at "Summer in the City" activities
We organised free holidays for 980 children in the form of "Summer in the City" activities in 2022 and 2023.
In 2022, there were 7 weekly stays full of games, excursions and sports activities, in which over 800 children from Ukraine took part. The centre of the events of our summer project “WawUA” was the Bednarska Szkoła Realna in the vicinity of Warsaw’s Łazienki Park. Every day, there were attractions prepared for the children in many locations: circus workshops, music and dance classes, as well as canoeing and various excursions. The holidays were organised in cooperation with the Foundation “Nasz Wybór” (“Our Choice”).
In 2023, we organised 4 integration weekly holidays for younger children. The participants were from Poland and Ukraine. This time they were half-day camps near Warsaw, in a beautiful setting of forests and meadows by the Świder river. The programme was filled with integration games and activities, trips to the forest (with building of huts), as well as sports activities – two days in canoes, climbing with belay and many others.
