The Club of Catholic Intelligentsia (KIK) in Warsaw has vast experience in supporting young people as well as shaping a spirit of dialogue and responsibility. One of the most important initiatives undertaken by KIK is bringing together children and young people in order to build relationships, prepare them for serving others and teach responsibility and sensitivity to those in need.
We are committed to building strong relationships between young people from Ukraine and Poland, who could work together in the future in a variety of ways, aiming to improve the situation of refugees – both those in Poland and those within Ukraine – and to take up endeavours related to rebuilding Ukraine.
The “Góry Liderów” (“Mountains of Leadership”) project is a training for young leaders aged 18-26, including youth and children group tutors as well as coordinators of a variety of projects, both from Poland and Ukraine. The training takes place once a year in the Polish mountains.
It aims to create a space for the participants to integrate, to meet new people and make friends, as well as to get to know tools facilitating communication and tools supporting the work with children and teenagers. The participants get acquainted with the techniques of motivational interviewing (MI) and with team-building games and strategies. After the training, the participants organise integration camps for children and teenagers from Poland and Ukraine.
In 2023, the training was attended by 32 participants.
The next release is planned for May 2024.
